About the team

As a Zillow Group platform, ShowingTime operates as an independent, open platform for existing and new clients — many of whom already use other industry offerings from Zillow Group. Launched in 1999, ShowingTime is the market leader in the scheduling, automation and management of residential property showings across the US and Canada. Each month, we automate over 4,000,000 showings and partner with nearly 1 million real estate agents who rely on our platform. This provides both convenience to the home buyer and an unprecedented level of visibility to the seller.

ShowingTime’s API Engineer is a role for the rare hybrid mind that wants to engage in troubleshooting engineering challenges, can break down that complexity for non-technical stakeholders, and still enjoys working with the customer directly. This role's focus is to be the escalation point for API related projects and overall support of the customer service team for technical issues and to determine the nature of customer problems for correction or further escalation as it relates to API. Do you enjoy working directly with the customer, but also love being hands-on in solving technical issues? Awesome, this is the role for you!

About the role

  • Help our clients integrate with our application program interface (API)

  • Work with Developers and Product Managers to create and improve customer facing documentation

  • Resolve and triage tickets escalated from customers and support teams

  • Effectively communicate with internal and external customers

  • Be able to discuss API features, functionality, and integration with various people within an organization (from developers to CEOs)

  • Investigate, diagnose, and solve system issues via research and testing

  • Be comfortable using coding samples and snippets of code to communicate with developer clients

  • Learn the API product in depth to be able to answer product knowledge on the fly
